Ring Making Jewellery Workshop

Learn to make your very own unique ring using the ancient art of wax carving in London!

2.5 hours Location London Class size 1 to 10 (public classes), 1 to 15   £40 - £45 (Earlybird price of £40 applies if you book into a public session 10+ days ahead)

Join us for a hands-on jewellery workshop in London, where you will learn the ancient art of wax carving, a technique that has been used for thousands of years to create precious metal jewellery. Using hard jeweller’s wax, you’ll sculpt, carve, and shape your design, bringing it to life as a unique ring model, ready to be cast in recycled sterling silver if you choose.
Your ring design can be anything you like – organic or geometric, delicate or chunky. The beauty of wax carving is its versatility. Whether you’re making something for yourself or creating a special gift for your favourite person, your piece will be completely one of a kind.
You’ll be guided through every step of the process by award-winning jeweller Lauren Grace, and you’ll have plenty of time to practise, ask questions, and perfect your design.
This experience is ideal for anyone aged 18 and over, whether you’re a complete beginner, a craft lover looking to try something new, or simply searching for a mindful, creative way to spend an evening. Bring a friend, or come solo and make some new ones!
Pricing:
  • The workshop itself costs £45. This includes a 6mm wide round wax blank, an 8mm wide signet blank, demonstration, tools, tuition and guidance – everything you need to create your beautiful wax model.
  • The cost of the workshop ticket does not include casting your ring in sterling silver.
If you’re in love with the ring you’ve created in wax and decide you’d like your piece cast in eco-friendly recycled silver, this costs an additional £75–£100, depending on the size and thickness of your design. This includes professional finishing, sizing, and polishing in my workshop before your ring is hallmarked at the London Assay Office and returned to you ready to wear, which takes around 4–5 weeks. This add-on can be paid at the end of the class and is completely optional.

Hello! I’m Lauren, an award-winning jeweller based in East London, and the founder of Lauren Grace Jewellery.
I’ve loved anything that glitters for as long as I can remember, and began my love of jewellery making after taking a class in the sixth form at school. Although my career initially took me in a different direction, I never lost my fascination with making shiny things and found my way back to the jewellery bench.
I make contemporary, handcrafted jewellery using recycled silver and gold, and I’m particularly drawn to wax carving. There’s something magical about transforming a simple block of wax into a completely individual piece of jewellery.
I love teaching because it gives me the chance to share that magic. I firmly believe that in a time where so much of our lives are spent online, slowing down, connecting, and discovering the joy of hands-on creativity is so important. My workshops are relaxed, accessible, friendly and welcoming to complete beginners.
You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed idea, just curiosity and a willingness to have a go. Seeing people surprise themselves with what they make is one of the best parts of my job!
