Got a favourite T-shirt that you hardly wear anymore? A cotton blouse that needs a little something? Or perhaps a much-loved top that you simply want to make your own?
Bring it along and give it a new lease of life with block printing.
In this relaxed, hands-on two-hour workshop, you'll discover the beautiful art of traditional block printing using hand-carved wooden printing blocks and colourful fabric inks.
I'll guide you through the process, from choosing your blocks and colours to planning your design and creating a pattern that works beautifully on your garment. You'll have time to experiment and practise on fabric first before printing onto your chosen piece.
This workshop is all about looking at the clothes we already own a little differently. Instead of leaving an old favourite unworn at the back of the wardrobe, you can refresh it with colour and pattern and create something completely individual.
No previous block printing experience is needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.
What to bring:
Please bring one clean, freshly washed, light-coloured cotton T-shirt, blouse or top that you would like to transform.
For the best printing results, choose a smooth, light-coloured fabric. White, cream, light grey, light pink and light yellow are ideal, as the printed colours will show up beautifully.
Please avoid dark colours, very stretchy or heavily textured fabrics, waterproof materials and delicate garments.
All printing blocks, fabric inks, practice materials and equipment are provided. You simply need to bring your chosen garment and come ready to create.
You'll leave with your very own reprinted and preloved piece, new block printing skills and hopefully a favourite you'll be excited to wear all over again. ️

What to bring
You should bring a cotton T-shirt or a blouse. Please don't bring a kurta or longer garment as it will take more space and resources. You should wear easy and carefree clothes so you can enjoy the block printing process.

FAQ

Can I buy a t-shirt at the workshop?
Please make sure you bring your garment with you, as T-shirts will not be available to purchase at the workshop. The whole idea is to reuse, re-love, recycle your existing beloved tee or a blouse
