Hi, I’m Raquel, a visual artist and printmaker passionate about creativity as a way to connect, express, and share ideas.

My journey began probably when I grabbed my first crayon, but officially at the San Carlos Faculty of Fine Arts at Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, where I studied my Fine Art BA and discovered the beauty of printmaking and bookbinding during my Erasmus Studies in Poland, at ASP Katowice. These arts and crafts balance tradition with experimentation, allowing endless room for innovation and contemporary approaches.

Since then, I’ve taught in universities (Ulster University, Belfast School of Art, NI), community studios, and international workshops, sharing not just skills but also the joy of making. For me, teaching is about the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and creativity. I believe everyone has a voice, and the visual arts and crafts provide a unique way to express it, build confidence, and think critically in a supportive, inclusive space.

I’ve been fortunate to exhibit my work across Europe and Asia, taking part in residencies in China at Guanlan Original Printmaking Base, and I received awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. But what I value most is the moment in a workshop when someone lights up, realizing they can create something meaningful with their own hands.

My classes are welcoming, collaborative, and inspirational, open to all, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned maker. You’ll leave not only with something beautiful you’ve made, but also with the sense of calm, connection, a great amount of technical skills, and inspiration that comes from creating together.
