Puppet Making Workshop for Kids

Delve into the world of traditional Turkish shadow puppetry with our unique paper craft and class in London! Join us for an engaging workshop where both children (ages 7-12) and adults can learn how to create their very ownagöz & Hacivat puppets from scratch.

• Under the guidance of our expert instructor Mengü Türk, you will be introduced to the history of the art form before diving into the hands-on activity of crafting your puppets.
• Using acetate films, paints, fishlines, and rods, you'll bring your puppet to life, learning valuable skills and techniques along the way.

Rest assured, as a beginner, you'll be guided through each step of the process with care and support. The workshop aims not just to teach you a new skill, but to provide a memorable bonding experience for families.By the end of the class, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of Turkish culture, newfound creativity, and a personalised Karagöz & Hacivat puppet as a cherished keepsake - all while spending quality time together.Please note, while the workshop will be conducted in English, there may be some Turkish terminology used. As you engage in this creative activity, remember to wear comfortable clothes and ensure the safe use of scissors for crafting.
