I’m a potter, artist and teacher with a real passion for sharing the joy of pottery with others.

My love of pottery grew from a fascination with making things by hand. I love the combination of creativity and technical skill it requires — there is always something new to learn, experiment with and improve.

I’ve been teaching for 14 years, working with hundreds of students of all ages and abilities. From complete beginners taking their first creative steps to more experienced students developing their skills, I love helping people grow in confidence. I’m especially proud that some of my students have gone on to pursue careers in the creative industries.

For me, teaching is about much more than showing someone how to make a pot. I love creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable having a go, making mistakes and discovering what they can do. I especially enjoy helping people find their “inner artist” — even those who arrive convinced they aren’t creative!

I bring both my teaching experience and technical knowledge of ceramics to every workshop, explaining the why as well as the how. Whether you’re learning to centre and throw on the wheel, exploring hand-building techniques or experimenting with decoration, I’ll help you develop your skills while having fun along the way.

You don’t need to consider yourself an artist or have any previous experience. Come along, get your hands muddy, have a go and see what you can create!
