What you'll do
Calling all budding artists. Learn a foundation skill in the world of art in this drawing class as you learn the best way to capture the human face in pencil and charcoal.
During this hands-on and creative experience, you will learn basic drawing techniques from a talented artist and friendly teacher. Sharing all their best tips and tricks, you will cover proportion, shading, expression and anatomy.
All skill levels are welcome. Whether you're an improver adding a new skill to your artistic repertoire or a beginner building your skills in drawing and mark-making, everyone is welcome to learn how to draw portraits. Art supplies are provided as well as guidance and feedback that will help you develop your technique and confidence.
In this portrait drawing class, you will:
- Be introduced to the human facial anatomy and learn about proportions.
- Learn how to capture facial expressions and characteristics.
- Understand skeletal and muscular anatomy.
- Get an intro to the idea of light and shade. Learning how to depict shading on the human face.
- Cover how perspective and foreshortening is drawn in a portrait.
By the end of this art class, you will leave feeling creatively fulfilled with the new skills you have learned and feel ready to take on more portrait artwork ideas in your future.
