Marisa D’Aprano has a long established and internationally renowned Porcelain Art Studio in South London. Traditionally trained and highly qualified, (BA(Hons), BCPAA dip, IPAT cert, ACSET), Marisa has over thirty five years of professional experience in the fine art of painting on porcelain and china. Marisa is well known for hand painting bespoke and unique commissions and also has a strong reputation as an international teacher, having taught a variety of styles and techniques to china painters throughout the UK, the rest of Europe and in Brazil.The Porcelain Art Studio offers classes for the hobbyist china painter, from the interested newcomer to the experienced painter wanting some expert advice.Beginners are welcome at the studio and will be taught how to paint on porcelain using traditional onglaze techniques, learning various styles from European decorative to naturalistic styles and many more advanced techniques including raised paste and gilding.Class pieces are fired in the studio’s kilns and a further firing service is available for students. Paints, brushes, mediums and other painting materials are all available to purchase from the studio.Classes are held during term time and each term consists of a course of 10 lessons. Lessons are currently held on Tuesdays -Thursdays, 10.00am-12.30pm.As well as creating beautiful painted porcelain during the lessons, students enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the chance to paint and chat, with a tea and coffee break offered during the morning.
