Plate Pottery Taster Class for Beginners

Get creative at this hand-building workshop in London!

3 hours Class size 8 to 10 guests       £45 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Learn how to make your own unique ceramic plate at this creative pottery workshop in Wimbledon. This relaxing activity is an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill while working with your hands to create something beautiful and functional.
You will begin by using a press mould to form the shape of your plate. After that, you'll learn how to bring your design to life by applying layers of coloured underglazes and slips. If you have a specific name or design in mind, it's a good idea to bring pre-prepared cut-outs using newspaper to save time during the session.
Once complete, your piece will be fired and glazed by the studio, ready for you to collect a few weeks later.
Please note, this workshop takes place in a shared community space. We ask that all work created is respectful to others, as we cannot fire any items that feature profanities or offensive language. The minimum age for attendance is 14, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
You'll leave this session with the satisfaction of learning a new craft and creating a beautiful piece of pottery that you can treasure forever.
What you'll get
Please be aware that you will have to return to the workshop to get your finished piece - we're unable to send ceramics in the post. Please allow 8 weeks for this process; your work will need time to dry plus go through our firing process twice.
