Your pizza is topped and ready to go into the oven. Baking great pizza at home is all about heat and timing. I will share my tips on how to get the best out of a regular oven, from temperature and positioning to knowing exactly when your pizza is done.

Get hands-on with Italian bread making at this pizza and focaccia workshop with Baked@number17, and discover how satisfying it is to make two classics entirely from scratch.
You'll learn to mix, develop, and shape a yeasted dough from the ground up – no shortcuts, no rolling pins. Pizza dough gets shaped rigorously by hand the way it should be, then topped and baked to perfection in a regular home oven, so you know the techniques will actually work in your own kitchen. If you fancy going a step further, there'll be Italian sourdough starter (lievito madre) on hand for anyone who wants to try their hand at sourdough pizza too.
Then it's on to focaccia – that deeply satisfying, dimpled bread that's soft and pillowy inside with a proper crunchy bottom. You'll learn exactly how to get that texture right, again using nothing more than a regular oven.
It's a relaxed, fun afternoon of making and eating, and you'll leave with the skills to pull off both whenever the mood strikes.
