  • 5/5 from Emma Parnell, attended Jun 2026: Such a lovely way to spend a morning, making with Michelle! She gave us a tour and told us all about the process then we spent two hours, in a private workshop, making a keyring and card holder. Her tuition is spot on and it was a lovely relaxing environment. I bought the workshop as a birthday present for my best friend. I’d highly recommend it as a lovely gift experience.
  • 5/5 from Natalie Latour, attended Jun 2026: Great class - Michelle was very knowledgeable and each step was easy to follow. I’ve come out with a lovely cardholder and keyring!
  • 5/5 from Andrea Ladstatter, attended May 2026: We did a private group of 5 for a friend’s birthday and it was a super fun and relaxing time! We’re all proud of our lil leather creations. It was really chill and the space was great. Would highly recommend it to everyone. Great value for amazing results. Thank you!!!
  • 5/5 from Isabel Gonzalez-De Rojas, attended Jan 2026: Michelle was absolutely amazing. Patient, kind and accommodating. Isabel enjoyed every bit of the session.
  • 5/5 from Joanne Willes, attended Nov 2025: I went along to the leather workshop with my husband. It was booked as a 3rd Wedding anniversary gift. Michelle was a lovely teacher explaining each step and offering help when needed. It was a very pleasant couple of hours. I am not a crafty person at all but found the workshop easy to follow and managed to make my leather card holder and keyring which look great if I dont say so myself!
  • 5/5 from William Westwood, attended Sep 2025: The workshop (making a card wallet and keyring) with Michelle was fabulous! She is very friendly and chatty. Learning about her story and how she got into leather making was interesting. The set up of her space was bright, open, and tidy with her work on display - very talented! Booking was easy, we couldn't make the dates for a group workshop and so requested a private one instead. Communications was via the ClassBento app to confirm dates with Michelle. On the day, Michelle also dropped a WhatsApp and helped us take photos whilst we were in production. Hubby and I super enjoyed making the items, it was a 3rd wedding anniversary present well spent. Highly recommend!

With a background in architecture, I’ve always been drawn to clean lines, simple geometries, and thoughtful design. While working in practice, I missed the hands-on aspects of making, which led me to explore various crafts—ultimately, leatherwork resonated with me the most. I was drawn to its timeless quality, the way it ages beautifully, and the satisfaction of crafting something by hand.
In my studio at Cockpit Studios, Deptford, I use traditional saddlery techniques like saddle stitching and hand burnishing to create durable, functional pieces. I work exclusively with oak-tanned and vegetable-tanned leather, artisanal materials that develop a rich patina over time, making each piece unique.
Teaching allows me to share this craft with others, and I love seeing the joy and satisfaction my students experience when they create something themselves. My workshops offer a hands-on introduction to leatherwork, where you’ll learn the basics and craft your own piece. My dedication to the craft has been recognised with the Leatherseller’s Award (2022-2025), and I’m excited to welcome you to this rewarding and tactile craft!
