I live in Northampton with my lovely husband Kevin. We have two gorgeous grown-up kids and three incredible grandchildren, with another due in October this year.
I love cooking, walking, reading, comedy and music – and I also have a nerdy obsession with politics!
About me
- I love burlesque and salsa dancing – but that doesn't mean I'm any good at either one!
Top weekend activities
- Spending time with my lovely grandchildren is always at the top of the list!
- Travelling to a different city for a day of sightseeing or walking. Northampton is completely flat, so by the end of the week I crave a good slog up a mountain!
- Heading off for a long lunch with friends, and then a comedy or music gig later in the evening.
Favourite craft
I love upcycling small pieces of mid-century furniture and ornaments. The best one I've ever completed was a lovely tealight holder, the first thing my hubby didn't want to put straight into the loft! Collage is my favourite rainy day project, and I cook a new recipe every weekday evening.
3 top tips to recharge and unwind
- WALK! It doesn't have to be a full-on hike, even a stroll around your local park is enough.
- Put family first. The moments we share with the people we love are what truly matter.
- Laugh a lot and listen to a favourite song at least once a day. Nothing lifts your mood like singing along at the top of your voice – and don't worry about being in tune!
3 top tips for embracing creativity
- Enjoy it, and embrace the chaos of creativity. Make a mess and don't be afraid to spill things!
- Put glitter on everything. Yes, everything!
- Make your project a present for someone you love. You'll get a high from treating them to something handmade, and they'll be touched by your efforts. Win-win!
