Having made clothes using commercial patterns, I really wanted to start to understand *why* the dimensions and shapes are what they are and how that translates to fitting the body. She gave very clear guidance and I left feeling that I could replicate what we had done in the class. She was patient and encouraging and I enjoyed chatting to her whilst we worked. I wanted to learn a practical skill for developing my sewing techniques. I am an experienced sewer, who has used ready made patterns many times, so it might have better to go for an intermediary class, as we finished early. I would have liked to have filled the rest of the time with more techniques, however, I left with a good idea of how to make a bodice pattern and how to use that to make a variety of garments, which is what I wanted out of the class. I highly recommend Shola as a good teacher.

A graduate of BA Womenswear fashion design, Shola has over 15 years of experience creating and teaching pattern cutting at universities, design, and sewing classes.
