What you'll do
Discover the art of screen printing in an immersive weekend experience at a vibrant Woolwich print studio!
You'll join the supportive and friendly Art Hub Studios team and dive into the fascinating world of printmaking.
During this ink-fuelled art class, you'll be introduced to an inspiring craft, learning how to bring your creative visions to life on paper using water-based inks and two different techniques: the vacuum table and simple clamps.
Over the weekend you'll explore key aspects of screen printing, including:
- A solid introduction to screen printing fundamentals.
- Step-by-step guidance on preparing and coating a screen with photo emulsion.
- The magic of exposing a screen using a UV exposure unit.
- Mixing vibrant and dynamic water-based inks.
- Mastering the art of registration and the printing process.

- Participants must be over the age of 18.
- This course requires a minimum number of participants to run. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we unfortunately have to cancel. We will notify you 7 days before the start date and you will receive a full refund or we can transfer over to another date.

Alexandra Hobson
Alexandra is a London based artist and educator whose screen prints, developed through mark making and photography work and rework multiple layers of colour and texture. Alexandra has extensive teaching experience within schools, further & higher education, as well as teaching workshops to a range of corporate clients. She currently teaches screen-print at Art Hub Studios and at Sonsoles Print Studio.

Art Hub Studios CIC is a non-profit Community Interest Company. We’ve been based in South East London for over 20 years and are dedicated to supporting artists at all stages of their career. Through our studios, facilities, gallery and outreach programme our aim is to promote the positive impact of art on children, in education and wellbeing in adulthood.
Art Hub Studios was founded in 1999 by Deb and Adrian as a framing business based in what is now Fuel Tank on Creekside, Deptford. Running the studios and framing in parallel is what began our studios and facilities offering. Over the years we have evolved as an organisation in order to meet new challenges from the development of the local area and changes in artist needs. In 2014 we became a Community Interest Company with affordable, all-inclusive studios at the centre of what we do. We now house 290 artists across two sites in Deptford and Woolwich.
We also deliver a programme of art workshops to young people based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust as part of the Young Greenwich Programme.
