Paper marbling is a centuries-old art where paint is floated upon a bath of thickened water and manipulated with various tools to create striking, fluid patterns. Although it might sound complex, marbling art is actually beginner-friendly and one of the most rewarding and fun crafts out there.
During this hands-on workshop, you will be greeted with a glass of fizz and immediately get messy marbling. Your talented teacher will demonstrate various techniques and talk you through how to recreate them yourself, providing all the tools, equipment and materials you might need to get really experimental.
From organic stone like patterns through to the intricate combed nonpareil, discover the joy of marbling as you create five of your dazzling marbled papers to take home.

Marmor Paperie was launched in 2015 with the hope of breathing a new life into the art of paper marbling. Seeing shops saturated with mass-produced products, we wanted to herald a return to quality workmanship and give people back the joy of owning something truly special.
We were awarded the Arts Society/Cockpit Arts Award in 2016, providing us with incredible tailored business support to help us grow, as well as funding our studio at craft incubator Cockpit Arts for a year.
Paper marbling is an old and beautiful technique. We use bold, fresh colours and fluid patterns to add a contemporary character. If you are interested in learning, we hold regular workshops but, be warned, it’s highly addictive!
