Arrive at the studio

Arrive at the Studio

Arrive at the rural oasis of Stepney City Farm, wander past the goats and the cafe on your way to my studio. I’ll greet you with a warm smile and a cuppa and let you find your seat.

Creative exercises around the farm

Creative Exercises Around the Farm

We start with a stroll past the pigs and hidden gardens of the farm, engaging in fun creative exercises that will help you open up your senses, let go of control and tap into intuition. We explore expressive mark-making, drawing with eyes closed, sketching sounds and opening up into different brainwave states conducive to art-making. I give a sprinkling of neuroscience, read a poem and then we head back to the studio.

Demonstration time Come On!

Demonstration Time Come On

I demonstrate how to use organic textures such as sand from the Thames foreshore and mud from the farm; show you techniques such as blending and colour mixing, splashing and dripping. Working with recycled packaging and polyfilla to create depth and contrast.

Let the Creativity Flow

Let the Creativity Flow

Then it’s over to you - taking inspiration from the art in the studio, the surrounding nature, and of course your own inner landscape, you can start putting what you’ve learnt into practice and creating your very own unique work of art on canvas. I’ll be guiding you and helping wherever needed, music will be playing and teas and coffees flowing.

Admire and Take It Home

Admire and Take It Home

At the end we have a group sharing, picture-taking and an opportunity to have your work framed there and then. Everyone leaves with a smile on their face and a finished piece in a brown paper bag.

When you need some creativity & nature to counteract the hustle and bustle of London, join this art class guided by an experienced and friendly teacher, Georgie (or Monica if you're coming between November 2025 and January 2026 as Georgie will be in India soaking up inspiration for her next solo show!)
Classes take place at Stepney City Farm. This little slice of green paradise is the perfect place to open yourself up to new skills and enjoy a creative and relaxing break.
When you arrive at the space, Georgie (or Monica) will greet you and offer you tea/coffee. She'll then take you on a stroll through secret areas of the farm, with stopping points where you'll be guided through short creative warm-up exercises.
Back in the studio, your host will demonstrate some techniques and textures she uses in her work, from making textures out of farmyard mud, to splashing paint, Pollock-style!
You'll learn how to construct your very own masterpiece by building texture, colour mixing, mark-making, and most importantly, letting go. Your host will help you detach from your inner perfectionist, enjoy the process and find flow. There are no rules, no right or wrong - this class is a place to practise getting comfortable with the unknown, and get messy! (Don't worry - kimonos and gloves provided)
If you've ever wanted to start painting but lacked the materials or motivation to get going, this art workshop is ideal. Georgie or Monica will give you as much or as little guidance as you need and want. It's also perfect for all occasions, from a birthday party, a hen's do or just a fun day out in London.
The class at the Stepney farm includes a short break where you can buy lunch from our onsite cafe, The Allotment Kitchen, or the farmers market, right by the studio, so you can enjoy local produce meals made with care.

Hi, I’m Georgie. I’m an Artist and Creativity Guide based at Stepney City Farm in East London. I am passionate about harnessing innate creativity to live a more textured and joyful life.
We live in a left-brain society that prioritises progress, pace and empiricism. I am passionate about redressing the balance by igniting right brain qualities of creativity, intuition and connection through fun and non-judgmental workshops for all levels (no experience required!). The farm is a wholesome environment, physically close but atmospherically very far from the hustle and bustle of the city, with glass double doors looking out onto the farm’s lush greenery and comforting animal noises…
Over the past ten years I have guided hundreds of people (both individuals and teams such as Google DeepMind, Amazon & Canva) to tap into their childlike sense of curiosity and joy through workshops, events and retreats.
As an artist my work connects to the natural world and the inherent abundance around us. By working with found, natural and ‘waste' materials, my work draws light on our relationship to the planet, inviting inner for outer change. I did my MA in Fine Art at City and Guilds Art School (London) and I have had work shown at the Royal Academy (London) and the Museum of Goa (India). I also have work in private collections such as 31 St James’ Square (London) and Suisse Majestic (Switzerland). Recent press includes the Financial Times, The London Standard and Architectural Digest.
In both my own practice and my workshops, I integrate research and training in psychology, mental health and art therapy to create a non-judgmental creative space where risks are encouraged and mistakes welcomed!
It’s my mission to make the world a more creative place, one brush stroke at a time!
