Some drawing skills.
What to bring
- Black watercolour paper A3.
- A selection of paintbrushes including a large rake brush and a small detail brush.
- Watercolour paints (colours needed: Prussian blue and rich sepia).
- Water.
- Kitchen roll.
- White gouache
- Derwent metallic paint pan set.
- Hairdryer (optional).
- Plastic card.
Your teacher
Marilyn Allis is a talented watercolour artist with a loose and impressionistic style. Marilyn loves to use strong vibrant colours to capture the movement and the energy of a scene. Working mainly in watercolour, but also acrylic inks and mixed media, Marilyn won the SAA artist of the year title in 1999. She has exhibited at the RI in the Mall galleries’ and appeared on Channel 4’s watercolour challenge.
