- Saunders Waterford 1/2 imperial rough paper stretched.
- Stretcher board.
- A selection of paintbrushes in sizes 10, 16 and 30.
- Rake brush.
- Watercolour paints (colours needed: Raw sienna, burnt umber, ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, cadmium yellow, opera rose, turquoise, alizarin crimson, light red).
- White gouache
- Masking fluid.
- Bamboo pen.
- Maskaway.
- An old toothbrush.
- Plastic card.
- Pencil.
- Water.
- Kitchen roll.
Your teacher
Marilyn Allis is a talented watercolour artist with a loose and impressionistic style. Marilyn loves to use strong vibrant colours to capture the movement and the energy of a scene. Working mainly in watercolour, but also acrylic inks and mixed media, Marilyn won the SAA artist of the year title in 1999. She has exhibited at the RI in the Mall galleries’ and appeared on Channel 4’s watercolour challenge.
