What to bring
- Rough watercolour paper.
- Selection of brushes, size 16 will be used the most.
- Plastic card.
- Watercolour paints (colours needed: ultramarine blue, yellow ochre, alizarine crimson, Prussian blue, rich sepia).
- Water.
- Kitchen roll.
- Ruler.
- Hair dryer (optional).
- An old toothbrush.
- Clingfilm.
Your teacher
Marilyn Allis is a talented watercolour artist with a loose and impressionistic style. Marilyn loves to use strong vibrant colours to capture the movement and the energy of a scene. Working mainly in watercolour, but also acrylic inks and mixed media, Marilyn won the SAA artist of the year title in 1999. She has exhibited at the RI in the Mall galleries’ and appeared on Channel 4’s watercolour challenge.
