Most painters don’t struggle with technique — they struggle with what to focus on. This small-group plein air workshop is designed to help you simplify what you see and paint with greater clarity and confidence.
Join me for a relaxed session of painting outdoors on Hampstead Heath. The focus is on identifying the essential shapes in the landscape and responding with a clear, confident approach to watercolour.
The day is structured but informal, beginning with a short demonstration and guided observation in the morning, followed by time to develop your own painting with individual feedback and support.
What you’ll focus on
Simplifying complex scenes into clear shapes
Making stronger compositional decisions
Working directly and intuitively from observation
Developing confidence in your painting process
Who it’s for
Suitable for all levels, from beginners to more experienced painters.
Prasad Beaven is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours (RI) and a semi-finalist on Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year.
What you'll get
A guided plein air watercolour session with demonstrations, individual guidance, and support throughout the class.

My name is Prasad, I have a background in Art, studying a BA in Illustration and then an MA in Traditional Arts.
My childhood in the foothills of the Himalayas has fostered a strong appreciation for nature which has influenced my work a lot.
Painting watercolours enables me to directly express this love for nature in a spontaneous and free manner.
I also love to teach and share my knowledge, it's wonderful to see people's early appreciation for a new skill and it also helps in my own work to grow and improve.
