One-to-one Cricut Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your Cricut machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Ann Smith, attended Jun 2026: I was given a Cricut Joy as a present and had no idea how to use it. Anna was brilliant and took me through a learning curve. She was brilliant so kind and understanding. I really liked that nothing was to much trouble for her.
  • 5/5 from Jill Thompson, attended Apr 2026: Helpful.starter tutorial in cricut machine
  • 5/5 from Sally Burnett, attended Mar 2026: Very informative and learned so much from the session and about Cricut generally. Left with so many ideas and can't wait for my machine to arrive.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Griffiths, attended Feb 2026: Fab Workshop with Anna, unfortunately the printers wouldn’t connect to the iPad which she apologised for. Anna was very informative. Maybe a further workshop could be offered as I wasn’t shown how to work the printer
  • 5/5 from Trudy Wells, attended Nov 2025: A big thankyou to lily for helping me understand how to use the cricket design space. She made everything very easy and clear and gave me lots of idea for my cake business. Thoroughly enjoyable hour with Lily. Plenty for me to be getting on with now. Thanks again lily.
  • 5/5 from Sharon Newton, attended Oct 2025: Bought my Cricut machine in January and not used it at all. Learnt how to design an iron on design. The teacher was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. The venue was fine and the materials were provided for my chosen project. I am now keen to use my machine
  • 5/5 from Lucy McIlroy, attended Aug 2025: I've recently bought the Cricut Joy Extra and rather than panic quietly at home over using it, I thought I'd book the session to get hands-on practice. Venue and materials were great as was the time slot that I booked. Anna, the member of staff who led the session, was brilliant. I bought the Cricut for a specific purpose and she focused on that, giving me a practical demonstration as well as talking me through the processes. I am disabled and Anna made sure I had a chair to sit on throughout the session and she was incredibly knowledgeable and encouraged my questions.
  • 5/5 from Vicki Jeggo, attended Jul 2025: Enjoyed learning about Cricut Joy and what it could do. Good to be shown it in use
  • 5/5 from Jennifer Johnson, attended Apr 2025: Informative, friendly lady called Anna, made the whole experience inspiring! The possibilities are endless, decided to upgrade to the bigger machine.
  • 5/5 from Anna, attended Feb 2025: Anna answered all my questions regarding purchasing the right machine for my needs and gave me several demonstrations on the machine and went through all the different types of transfers and tools I would require to get started. She was very patient
  • 5/5 from Caroline Gibbon, attended Jan 2025: I enjoyed the hands on approach & I was pleased that I had made 2 cards. I feel able to make a start on my own. Thank you! ️
  • 3/5 from Chris Jessop, attended Jan 2025: The tutor was great, understood my problem with online classes. Explained all my questions clearly, ran thru 'need to know' details as the machine comes with no written instructions. Took the mystery out of some terms used in the cricut promotion material. However, as a visual learner, when we came to do a project the internet would not connect the tablet and machine.. The tutor was left with an embarrassing position having fully understood my needs and couldn't have been more helpful. I would like to book more classes in-store but will not do so until I am assured the technical problem has been fixed.
  • 5/5 from Isobel Sinclair, attended Jul 2024: Really helpful. Tailored to needs. Thank you Will certainly be back for part 2 once all new learning has been mastered!
  • 4/5 from Alison Jackson-Bass, attended Jul 2024: Great teacher (Anna) - learnt lots of useful tips - and she sorted out an issue I was having. Shane was also very helpful. Shame there were technical issues.
  • 5/5 from Emma Cherry, attended Jun 2024: Really knowledgeable. Enthusiastic none of my daft questions were too much. Really worth the money. Will be back later to buy my machine and other bits and pieces
  • 5/5 from Athena House, attended May 2024: I came in to find out what machine would be best and thanks to Lily, I did. She was an amazing teacher and really helped me. She made it interesting and was extremely patient with me (as I am disabled), the place was wonderful and I very much enjoyed myself. She showed me how to make sti jersey, draw and explained how each machine worked perfectly.
  • 5/5 from Donna Padfield, attended May 2024: Anna in Taunton store was really great..explained everything.recommended ways to use my machine and how best the future
  • 5/5 from Gemma Coles, attended Mar 2024: Myself and my partner attended a workshop over the weekend which was run by Lily in the Taunton store. Lily was very informative, so friendly and ensured we understood each step thoroughly before moving onto the next. As we were new to Cricut we went into the workshop not knowing a thing about it but Lily explained everything to us in such detail and after the workshop helped us select items that we needed. We will definitely be looking at attending another workshop in the near future and would also love for Lily to be recognise as an amazing asset to Hobbycraft Taunton
  • 5/5 from Jackie Birch, attended Mar 2024: Learning how to use design space for my new cricut machine. The lady running the class was very informative and answered all my questions knowledgeably. She even showed me how to use the design space on my computer which i had brought along, the only issue was one of your ipads did not work correctly for the lady to demonstrate to me fortunately the second one did.
  • 5/5 from Beverley Hambleton, attended Jan 2024: I met Anna today who was very helpful in making me choose the right cricut machine for my needs. She was very polite and a very keen crafter. It was lovely taking to someone on the same wavelength as myself. Anna was very informative explaining about things you can make with the machine. Also explaining a little about cricut design space. The hour went by rather quickly but I enjoyed the opportunity to learn something new. Thankyou.
  • 3/5 from Morrella Stephens, attended Sep 2023: When I booked and paid £20, I did assume the one to one would be in a side room from the main shop, but no it’s in the middle of the shop, so customers can also see / hear what’s said, The lady showing the machine did her best but as the printer was at the back of shop (maybe in staff room) I couldn’t see the stickers printing out, so alittle but disappointed really
  • 5/5 from Marjorie Creek, attended Jul 2023: Friendly, efficient and knowledgable. Thoroughly enjoyed my hour’s one to one training in various aspects of the Cricut Maker, worth every penny.
  • 5/5 from Kimberley Gamblin, attended May 2023: Lily was very thorough with everything she showed me really enjoyed and really happy to go use my Cricut now
  • 3/5 from Caroline Dickin, attended Apr 2023: Anna was very lovely and clearly very knowledgeable, however the set up for this ‘workshop’ was not at all ‘workshop’ like. We were expected to stand around the Cricut machines on display in the store with customers milling around and ask questions. When we asked if we could sit down to run through design space we were shown to a table at the rear of the store (still with customers around) and told that the internet was not working properly and there was no access to the tablets to work it. Thankfully I had taken my iPad and hotspot it to my phone to look at design space. Accessing the internet was not great and time ran out very quickly and we saw nothing of Cricut in progress. As I said, Anna was very lovely so no criticisms there at all, but the whole ‘workshop’ was very disappointing and I left with more questions unanswered and even more frustration. It’s no wonder there are so many ‘as new’ Cricut machines up for sale, Design Space is not very user friendly, particularly with IOS products. Definitely NOT worth the £20 workshop fee.
  • 5/5 from Diane Jones, attended Feb 2023: Lily was lovely and very knowledgeable and she answered all my questions. I asked to see a demo of what an intricate cut and a pen design looked like, the demo of cutting didn’t come out too well as cutting blades were not sharp but the pen demo came out well. There is so much about a cri-cut to discover but I’ve certainly been given enough information to start using the maker.I Thank you Lily for an informative hour. Diane
  • 5/5 from Nicky Stock, attended Feb 2023: Anna was great. She explained everything with great enthusiasm. I really enjoyed the workshop & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
  • 5/5 from Nicky Stock, attended Feb 2023: Anna was really helpful & informative. I really enjoyed the workshop & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
  • 5/5 from Emma Hamlin, attended Dec 2022: The member of staff was fab- very informative and helpful. Just what I needed to get to grips with cricut.
  • 5/5 from Linda Mackenzie, attended Nov 2022: I really enjoyed my session with Lily. She was a good teacher with good eye contact and listening skills. Lily understood what I was asking from my new standpoint. She explained, demonstrated and encouraged me to try. She pointed out merchandise but did not push me to buy but encouraged me to have a go at home. I will definitely book the next session with her.
  • 5/5 from Jayne Howells, attended Oct 2022: Good tutor, taught me what I needed to know for my project. Very Knowledge and friendly
  • 5/5 from Jackie Martin, attended Sep 2022: Covered points Ied help with. Much better than a fixed plan. Shame the foil transfer was not available. Definitely will book another when I become more accomplished. Only negative - I personally would have preferred to sit down away from the middle of the shop.
  • 4/5 from Mandy Boobyer, attended Sep 2022: I managed to get two people help me poppy the first half and then Lily the second half! Both were very knowledgeable about the circut! There were materials available to make a small item! Maybe a seated area would have been nice but it didn’t spoil the event! It really helped me to decide to purchase one :)

  • 5/5 from Jane Bryant, attended Aug 2022: Lily was brilliant, there were a few things I didn’t understand prior to coming into store. I went out and felt as though I knew what to do. She was very confident and knowledgeable and I would like to take her home to keep! Jane
  • 5/5 from Sandra Watts, attended Aug 2022: Teacher was excellent, knowledgeable with good communication skills. She explained things well and answered any questions. Venue was well lit and spacious. Happy with the materials provided for first lesson. Yes I felt it was value for money. I learnt 100 times more things the cricut could do and all about the accessories. The workshop gave me knowledge and confidence.
  • 5/5 from Vanessa Carter, attended Jul 2022: So pleased with the 1:1 workshop I took today. Anne was super knowledgeable about the Cricut 3 and clearly has a passion for her craft. I came away with much more confidence than I went in. Great to 'have-a-go' also with some of the products accessories.Would definitely recommend.
  • 5/5 from Shiena Salvacion, attended May 2022: The teacher was very kind, good, knowledgeable. She always looking find of ways to teach and explain how cricut works especially with us has a limited knowledge on cricut. Also, she is very helpful and patience. The area was good as well as things that need to do use for explaining and demonstrating are just within reach.
  • 5/5 from Bethany Pinney, attended May 2022: Very knowledgable and helpful, will be buying the machine shown to me. Will book again if ever needed also
  • 5/5 from Michelle Gleed, attended May 2022: Anna was very helpful and informative. We sat at a table at the back of the store. This was great, as I'm disabled, but the WIFI signal was not very good.
  • 5/5 from Jayne Cox, attended Apr 2022: Today I had Anna from Taunton helping me with my cricut joy. She was absolutely amazing. Very patient and kind with me, a complete novice. I covered my issues mainly manoeuvring around the design space which I had found very good difficult even having been on you tube. We e also managed to cover vinyl work too. Loved the shimmer and bought some. Great value for money and will come again after I've had a practice. 5 stars
  • 5/5 from Michelle Gleed, attended Apr 2022: I thoroughly enjoyed the 1 to 1 class. Michelle was very knowledgeable. We went over all the topics I was unsure about. Will definitely be booking more.
  • 5/5 from Linda Mackenzie, attended Mar 2022: Lily (Taunton store) was friendly, helpful and super knowledgeable about Cricut. I’m almost a total beginner. I left with an idea about how to get my project off the ground, the right materials and some clever tips to get great results. I definitely think I’ll be back to learn more once I’ve mastered what I’ve taken home so far.
  • 4/5 from Donna Woodward, attended Feb 2022: Shop was still open, so it didn’t feel that personal. Back ground music a bit too loud, unable to hear very well - especially wearing masks. Standing all the way through the session with my coat still on. More of a demonstration. Unfortunately not worth £15
  • 5/5 from Karen Lewis, attended Jan 2022: Anna was great very knowledgeable and approachable. I needed to know some basics of how to use the cricut having recently started to use one. Together we made a card for my daughter using the cricut machine which answered a lot of the questions I had. A very worth while lesson. Thank you Anna. :0)
