Have you always wanted to learn to crochet but weren't sure where to begin? Perhaps you've watched online tutorials but found them confusing, or maybe you'd simply like the support of a real person to guide you through the basics. This friendly one-to-one online workshop is the perfect place to start.
From the comfort of your own home, I'll guide you through the essential crochet techniques and stitches in a relaxed, supportive environment. Because this is a private lesson, we'll work entirely at your pace, giving you plenty of time to ask questions, practise new skills and build confidence without feeling rushed.
As a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor, I bring real industry experience to every lesson. My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL. I love sharing the knowledge I've gained through designing professionally, but my biggest passion is helping others discover just how enjoyable and rewarding crochet can be. Whether you're picking up a hook for the very first time or have struggled to learn on your own, I'll help you feel relaxed, supported and confident every step of the way.
What to expect:
Learn the essential crochet techniques and stitches, along with plenty of practical tips and tricks.
Enjoy a private online lesson from the comfort of your own home.
Receive personalised tuition tailored to your experience, goals and learning style.
Build confidence as you practise at your own pace in a friendly, encouraging environment.
All you'll need to get started is a ball of chunky yarn and a 6mm crochet hook.
By the end of the session, you'll have the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to continue your crochet journey, along with a solid foundation for creating your own handmade projects.

Hi, I'm Nancy, the force behind CraftingisourJazz.
I'm a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor with a passion for helping others discover just how enjoyable and rewarding crochet can be.
My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL.
Alongside designing, I work as a crochet technical editor, helping designers produce clear, accurate patterns for crocheters around the world.
My crochet journey began during a difficult time for my family. Crafting became a source of comfort and relaxation for my daughter, who lives with a chronic illness, and seeing the difference it made inspired me to pick up my own hook again. Before long, I realised crochet offered me the same welcome escape from the everyday challenges that chronic illness brings to the whole family.
What started as a hobby soon became a real passion. Friends and family began asking me to create handmade pieces, which naturally led me into designing my own patterns. Since then, I've been fortunate to see my work published in several well-known crochet publications and to work with some wonderful organisations within the crochet community.
Today, I combine my design work, technical editing and teaching through CraftingisourJazz. Whether I'm designing a new pattern, editing someone else's work or teaching a beginner to hold a crochet hook for the very first time, my goal is always the same - to help people enjoy crochet with confidence.
I love teaching both one-to-one lessons and small group workshops, either in person or online. My classes are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and I believe there are no silly questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way as you begin your own crochet journey.
