Choose Your Design and Sketch

Choose from a variety of templates to inspire your mosaic design. Once you've decided on your design, you'll create a quick sketch to outline the main shapes and proportions before bringing it to life with glass.

Assemble Your Mosaic

Assemble Your Mosaic

Break glass and mosaic tiles into the perfect shapes for your design, then glue each piece into place. You'll be guided through how to use the tools, work with different materials, and assemble your mosaic with confidence.

Apply Grout and Polish

Apply Grout and Polish

Finish your mosaic by applying white grout between the tiles to complete your design. Once it's dry, you'll polish your piece to bring out the colours and leave with a beautiful handmade mosaic ready to take home.

Break glass, make mosaics, feel like ancient Romans (but with better drinks). In this mosaic workshop in London, you'll create your own piece using real glass -- a coaster, a jewellery tray, or something for your wall.
Think good music, something sparkling, and making something with your hands (that you’ll actually want to keep). You don't need any experience to join -- this workshop is perfect for beginners.
What to expect:
  • Create your own mosaic piece using real glass.
  • Choose to make a coaster, jewellery tray, or wall decoration.
  • Learn simple mosaic techniques with step-by-step guidance.
  • Design and assemble your own unique creation.
  • Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with good music and drinks.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your own handmade mosaic piece and a fun, memorable creative experience.
What you'll get
  • A handmade mosaic coaster, jewellery tray or wall piece to take home!
  • A glass of something sparkling (or tea and sweets, if that’s more your vibe).
  • A curated set of references to get your ideas flowing.

Potato Eye
Potato Eye

female Women-owned

Potato Eye started as a small rebellion against the pace of London.
Created by a former corporate professional who realised something was missing - something slower, more human and more creative - Potato Eye was born from the belief that creativity shouldn't be reserved for artists. It should be part of everyday life.
Nestled in the heart of Dalston, Potato Eye is a creative space where people come to switch off, make something with their hands, meet like-minded people and enjoy a few hours away from emails, notifications and endless to-do lists. No experience is ever needed - just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. We like to pair creativity with good music, a glass of sparkling Dalston Soda (or something a little sparklier), and an atmosphere that feels more like spending an afternoon with friends than attending a class.
Potato Eye was created as a home for creativity in all its forms. Over time, you'll find talks, lectures, pottery workshops and other community events here. For now, our focus is on intimate mosaic workshops that invite people to slow down, enjoy the process and create something they'll genuinely be proud to take home.
We love mosaics because they're surprisingly meditative. As you place each tiny tile, your attention naturally shifts away from the outside world. Hours pass without noticing, conversations flow easily, and by the end of the workshop you've created something completely unique with your own hands.
To keep that feeling, workshops are intentionally kept small (up to ten people). Whether you come alone, with a friend or as part of a group, the atmosphere stays relaxed, personal and welcoming.
Most of our guests have never made a mosaic before, and that's exactly who these workshops are designed for. There's no expectation to be artistic, no pressure to be perfect and no need to learn a new skill.
Just come as you are, enjoy the process, and you might be surprised by what you create
