In this engaging printmaking class, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in monotype techniques, including additive and subtractive processes. The workshop, tutored by John Howard, BA Hons, RE, FRBSA, is suitable for beginners with no previous experience as well as those looking to enhance their abilities.
  • All materials, including paper, are provided for you - just bring along some images or ideas to work from.
  • This workshop is a standalone session, but if you have previously attended a similar class, it offers a chance to further expand on your knowledge and progress in your artistic journey.
You may feel a bit nervous if you're new to printmaking, but rest assured that this class is designed for all skill levels. John Howard and the technician will guide you through each step, making it easy to understand the processes involved.
During the workshop, you'll work with various materials and tools, experimenting with different techniques to create unique monotype prints. You'll have the freedom to express your creativity and bring your ideas to life on paper.

John Howard is an award-winning painter and printmaker and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and an honorary member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (MRBSA). As well as running his highly-regarded print studio, he is also an associate lecturer at Falmouth University.
Born in Birmingham, England, John worked in industry in the midlands for ten years before studying fine art as a mature student where he graduated with a first class honours degree. He moved to Cornwall for greater professional and personal fulfilment and now runs a printmaking studio in an iconic eco-building, offering courses, workshops and open access to other printmakers as well as making his own work.
