If you're keen to try your hand at a variety of different art styles and mediums, this live and interactive course is for you! Each week you'll learn something different, from drawing to painting to watercolours, so each session is fresh and new.
You'll also take inspiration from some of the world's most iconic artists, giving you fresh insight into their styles, processes and famous works.
Here's what you can expect:
Week 1: Making Mandalas
Join me on a discovery of the magical powers of making mandalas, create your own and learn how to mix a beautiful palette of colours to paint it with.
Week 2: Henri Matisse & His Paper Cut Outs
Learn about Henri Matisse, try out his technique in collage. Discover how positive and negative space can work wonders for composition. Perhaps use this technique to make some handmade greeting cards to show off to friends & family.
Week 3: Paint Like Georgia O'Keeffe
Learn about the life and art of Georgia O'Keeffe. Try out her style. Maybe try painting in acrylics on a small canvas. I'll be there to guide you.
Week 4: Global Patterns
Learn about traditional patterns from around the globe. Create a version of one of the patterns that you relate to. Demonstration will be using Watercolour.
Week 5: Symbolism with Frida Kahlo
Discover the art of symbolism through the creative life of Frida Kahlo, how she used art as an escape from months of being bedridden & to 'paint her reality' her thoughts and feelings.
Week 6: Let's get Dotty with Yayoi Kusama
Find clarity in the dizziness of polka dots like the Japanese Artist Yayoi Kusama. We'll look at the extraordinary creative process of Kusama, one of the most prominent contemporary artists of our time. This style of art would look great replicated on a tote bag or cushion if you feel like doing some fabric painting.

Julie has always loved to draw and paint and loves to encourage others to take part in the creative process. Although a qualified Art teacher she sees herself more as an 'Art facilitator'. "My teaching style is easy going with a strong emphasis on you enjoying the learning experience. I’ve taught students of all ages, and abilities from 8 to 86 year olds. My aim is to help you learn to paint and draw confidently so you can discover your true inner artist. I work in many different mediums, oils, acrylics, watercolour or pencil. Over the years I have sold to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, worked on commissions for Liberty of London, Heals, Conran shop & The Royal Academy".
