My love for flowers began as a little girl in Iraq, when I would pick flowers from our garden early in the morning and arrange them in the living room so they would be waiting for my mother when she woke up.
Life took me through Belgium and eventually to London, where, after working in education, I finally returned to my childhood passion and began my professional floristry journey in 2019.
I trained at Capel Manor College, gaining my Floristry Technical Certificate, and in 2022 I was honoured to receive the Jeanne Schumichen Award for the Best Floristry Technical Certificate Student.
Since then, I have gained hands-on experience across different areas of floristry and have taught bouquet-making, the spiral technique and seasonal wreath-making. My background in education has shaped the way I teach: I love breaking techniques into simple, practical steps and giving people the confidence to create something in their own style.
I also grow flowers in my allotment, using some of them in my own bouquets and dried-flower creations.
Through Mimosa Florist, I’m now bringing together my love of flowers, professional experience and passion for teaching to create relaxed, welcoming workshops where everyone can learn, create and enjoy working with flowers.
