Learn the art of millinery as you make your very own chic sculpted hat at this full-day craft class in London!

Hosted at the Cockpit Arts in the heart of Bloomsbury, this millinery class will take you through the steps required to make an eye-catching, high fashion sinamay mini-hat.

You will decorate your creation with a free form sculpted sinamay shape and sinamay trim as well as your own hand-made silk flowers. You will then finish with a comb and elastic to secure the piece.

Don't worry if this is your first time trying your hand at millinery, as all you need for this class is some basic sewing skills. Talented milliner and friendly teacher, Judy, will be with you throughout the class to offer guidance, support as well as her top tips and tricks!

By the end of the class, you will have a stunning sinamay sculpted hat to call your own. Each piece will have some variation to make them all individual, unique and truly yours. Head home with your bespoke creation along with the skills to make more!

Judy Bentinck has been teaching millinery skills at Central St Martin’s University of the Arts London short courses since 2007 and also runs a variety of courses from her Central London Studio.
A founder member and Director of The British Hat Guild, Judy is a leading British milliner with 21 years of experience.

Judy is passionate about her craft and loves to pass her expertise on, as well as her passion! A patient and attentive teacher, let Judy help you discover the wonders of millinery.

These courses are always small in number, ensuring plenty of personal attention. You will learn traditional millinery techniques surrounded by the tutor's own inspiring work.

Judy Bentinck has judged the International HATTALK competition for 2 years running and has also demonstrated at the Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum and The Museum of London.
In 2014 she published “Designing and Making Hats and Headpieces”, an excellent accompaniment to her courses.
