Looking for fun things to do in London? Why not discover a new craft with this full-day beginner millinery class that focuses on the art of fabric flower making?

Working with and adapting flower patterns, you will learn to create a beautiful organza rose, a striking organdie poppy and an eye-catching sinamay lily! Your creations will make gorgeous additions to an array of accessories from statement headpieces to bags and even corsages.

New to working with fabric? Don't worry, this class has been designed with the beginner in mind! Let talented milliner, Judy, show you the traditional shaping techniques needed to produce wonderfully natural and organic shapes.

Relax, and feel inspired as you craft and create wearable works of art surrounded by your talented tutor's creations. As this class is hosted at Bloomsbury's Cockpit Arts, you'll be learning new millinery techniques at a thriving hive of creativity and craft (Cockpit Arts is home to over 80 makers’ studios).

By the end of this soothing and enjoyable craft class, you will have three beautiful accessory flowers to call your own and of course, the skills to make more!

Judy Bentinck has been teaching millinery skills at Central St Martin’s University of the Arts London short courses since 2007 and also runs a variety of courses from her Central London Studio.
A founder member and Director of The British Hat Guild, Judy is a leading British milliner with 21 years of experience.

Judy is passionate about her craft and loves to pass her expertise on, as well as her passion! A patient and attentive teacher, let Judy help you discover the wonders of millinery.

These courses are always small in number, ensuring plenty of personal attention. You will learn traditional millinery techniques surrounded by the tutor's own inspiring work.

Judy Bentinck has judged the International HATTALK competition for 2 years running and has also demonstrated at the Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum and The Museum of London.
In 2014 she published “Designing and Making Hats and Headpieces”, an excellent accompaniment to her courses.
