Metal Sculpture Workshop

Get to grips with metalworking in this full-day course.

7 hours Class size 1 to 3     label £170 - £260 (£260 per guest when you book for 1+ guests, £170 for 3 guests)

The full-day workshop will focus on the skills needed to cut, manipulate, and join steel, then use these skills to make your own metal artwork to take home. This could be a wall sculpture cut from steel and decorated with welding and finishing techniques or a simple 3D freestanding sculpture.

If you have ideas for something you would like to make, you are welcome to contact Philip to discuss these ahead of time.

You will be introduced to a variety of tools and equipment, including:

  • Metal cutting saws
  • Angle grinders
  • Metal benders and rollers
  • MIG Welding (TIG/MMA welding processes are available, but for short courses, MIG is recommended)
  • Oxyacetylene Cutting
  • Forge and Anvil
  • Metal finishing

Get ready for hot metal, sparks, and metal wrangling! Philip will also give you an insight into his practise and how to get into metal art or metal fabrication, over a well-brewed coffee, tea, or infusion.

Throughout the workshop, you'll be provided with all the necessary tools and equipment, including safety wear such as welding helmets, goggles, ear defenders, a leather apron, and gloves. You just need to bring your own steel toe-capped boots and work clothes or overalls.

"Not only will you leave with valuable skills and knowledge, but you'll also take home the metal sculptures you've created. It's a tangible reminder of your journey into the world of metal art. So come join me for a hands-on, transformative experience and unleash your creativity in my metal art workshop. Don't miss out on this truly unique opportunity to learn and create!"
