Matthew Algie was established in 1864 in Glasgow as an importer and packer of tea. Now the UK’s leading independently owned coffee roaster, Matthew Algie pioneered the movement towards fresh espresso and ethical coffee sourcing.
We search the world for amazing coffees, and with respect to the hard work of the farmers we work with, we strive to ensure the story of each coffee shines through in the cup. Our newest coffee brand, Blak Nektar, embodies this ethos. We treat coffee as an experience - not a commodity. Our aim is to create truly memorable and unique coffees that can be enjoyed at home.
