Matcha ritual (30 mins)
Kick off with ceremonial grade matcha. You'll get a short introduction to what separates great matcha from the rest -- colour, texture, taste -- before learning to make a proper matcha latte yourself. Then whisk up your own to sip while you get your hands into the clay.
Matcha bowl making (90 mins)
Into the studio, where you'll hand-build your own chawan (matcha bowl) from scratch. Expert instructors guide you through shaping, smoothing and personalising your piece with hand-painted designs, using premium clay and professional tools in our calm, prepared studio.
The finishing touch
Your bowl is professionally glazed and fired after the workshop -- food-safe and ready to use. Collect it in around 4-5 weeks, free of charge, or have it shipped anywhere in the UK for £8.
Perfect for a creative weekend, a quiet date, or a mindful gift.

  • 5/5 from Georgiana Synesi, attended Oct 2026: The teachers were very attentive and helped us to make beautiful matcha and pottery! Thank you very much :)
  • 5/5 from Grace Piette, attended Sep 2026: Such a wonderful class!
  • 5/5 from Grace, attended Sep 2026: The class was really enjoyable from start to finish, and I loved learning more about how to make the perfect matcha while getting to taste authentic Chinese matcha for myself. I also really enjoyed making my own matcha bowl, and the staff were incredibly helpful throughout. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the whole experience felt both fun and informative. I’d definitely recommend the class to anyone who loves matcha or wants to learn more about it!
  • 5/5 from Danika, attended Sep 2026: I booked the class as a birthday present for my sister who loves matcha! It was such a fun experience. The class is two hours and at no point felt rushed. It was insightful and creative. We all had a great time! A big thank you to Cindy and Jo who led the class. I would definitely recommend :)
  • 2/5 from Zoe Mujica Ojeda, attended Sep 2026: I bought this experience for my best friends birthday and we went into it expecting much more in depth knowledge of matcha and informative tasting and bowl making class In reality it was disappointing and rushed. The matcha making was sped through and not enough tools were provided. By the time we made our matcha (which we condensed into one bowl for speed) they were already moving on to pottery The pottery itself was also sped-taught, with not enough time or care put into each step and we just had to wing it and figure it out ourselves. From our neighbours it felt like this was a common experience. Again not enough tools provided (ie 2 sponges for 4 people) Some paints were out which was not made clear. Ultimately there was not enough attention to detail, care, tools, or expertiese for the price paid and we felt rushed and lost throughout.
  • 5/5 from Cheryl Kuek Young Ee, attended Aug 2026: Had such a lovely time learning how to make matcha! Since it was our first time, we had quite a few doubts, but we received lots of hands-on guidance and help throughout the process, which made the experience really enjoyable and easy to follow. We were also given the creative freedom to design our own matcha bowls, which was such a fun and personal touch. Both teachers were incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging throughout the session. The atmosphere was another highlight! The space was cosy and beautifully lit, and because we went on a weekend, the whole floor was quiet and peaceful, which made the experience even more relaxing. My friend and I really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back again soon!
  • 5/5 from Francesca Tee, attended Aug 2026: "We had a lovely experience with Cindy and Proud! /ud83d/ude0aThe class was small and intimate -just the two of us and two other people - so the session felt peaceful, relaxing and personal. Both teachers were very kind and attentive, regularly coming over to offer guidance and help us learn new skills while still giving us plenty of freedom to be creative./r/n/r/nAlthough two hours didn/u2019t feel quite long enough to finish painting our pieces, they very kindly allowed us to stay for an extra 20 minutes or so until we were happy with them, which we really appreciated./r/n/r/nThe experience was a birthday gift from a friend, and redeeming the gift card was easy, with several convenient dates available. The only slight difficulty was finding the meeting point and correct entrance, as there were several similar-looking grey doors nearby, so we started a bit late >

I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make matcha (including tips for the correct measurements etc. and understanding the specific techniques). My favourite part of the session was making the bowl! It’s a therapeutic and fun experience and the staff are there to help whenever needed. I went for a solo activity but recommend for solo, couples and friends too!

  • 5/5 from Brianna, attended Jun 2026: Honestly had the best time at this matcha and pottery class! It was such a fun experience from start to finish. The girls running it were so incredibly nice and patient with us, and they honestly played a huge role in helping me create my absolute masterpiece. Designing and painting the handmade pottery while learning about matcha was just the perfect vibe. I’m so excited to see how my matcha bowl turns out once it's fired! I’m already looking forward to booking with them again and bringing friends and family next time. Definitely recommend checking them out!
  • 5/5 from Madeha Hussain, attended Jun 2026: I learnt a lot about matcha like it originally been sourced in china, I wasn’t aware you couldn’t touch the bottom of the matcha bowl. Learnt how to make the matcha more frothy. The bowl making experience was quite well, it did seem hard especially trying to make the correct shape but overall it was fun. I went by myself to celebrate my birthday and this was done really well and it gave me the opportunity to meet and make new friends
  • 5/5 from Sen, attended Jun 2026: This was a brilliant experience! Nice easy to follow instructions for making a matcha latte and then great fun making handmade matcha bowls - really looking forward to seeing how they turn out. This was really good fun and a really nice group of people - really relaxed atmosophere and we're even thinking about doing it again with another group of friends.. Definitely recommend if you're interested in matcha.
  • 5/5 from Clare Slater, attended Jun 2026: the ladies teaching the course were all lovely. really enjoyed both the making of matcha tea (only 1 type, so not a tasting as such) and the pottery bowl making and painting.
  • 5/5 from Evie Bullivant, attended Jun 2026: Me and my friend came as an anniversary of our Japan trip and we had a great time! The team was very supportive through the process and everyone was so lovely. Look forward to seeing the pieces!
  • 4/5 from Rosie, attended Jun 2026: The teachers created a beautifully peaceful space for you the create in, with amble amount of time to build and then paint your bowl in - was so grateful for that! Learning the spiritual meanings behind the concept of hand building and how to use the matcha tools was insightful! The teachers were very helpful and patient when repeating steps, they were quick to physically get involved and help when needed. A great way to spend an afternoon, we were so chilled out afterwards!
  • 4/5 from Sam Kutner, attended Jun 2026: Fun afternoon with nice teachers
  • 4/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Jun 2026: Me and my partner went for my birthday and had an amazing time however some bits were slightly disappointing. I feel like the classes could have done with a little more preparation and equipment. During our own matcha making session there was only one bowl, whisk and scale between four of us, so what should have been probably a 15 minute part of the session turned to about 40 minutes and quite a lot of sitting around doing nothing. This meant that there was no time to compare different matchas and try different ones like it has shown on Tik Tok and also said on the website? I feel we also barely drank any matcha as well, when I’ve seen videos people get larger cups and we had barely any. I don’t know if this is an influencer thing and they are getting slightly better experiences but I thought I would have come out of the session having drank a decent amount rather than half a cup. Because we took so long making the matcha, painting the bowl felt very rushed and chaotic trying to finish the design. Like I said I enjoyed the session but I don’t know what is advertised on the website and on Tik Tok is a bit different to paying customers experiences!
  • 5/5 from Taylor, attended May 2026: Took my girlfriend to this class for her Birthday and we couldn’t have had more fun. The team are fantastic, insightful and very willing to help. They made a great memory for us that we will cherish forever 10/10 would recommend to anyone

  • 5/5 from Georgia Newton, attended May 2026: It was really interesting learning more about the different types of matcha and the pottery painting was really fun. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Caitlin Kristina Schiffer, attended May 2026: It was such a nice vibe and the people were very nice! Very friendly and very nice two hours. I would totally do it again and am planning on doing other workshops with them!
  • 5/5 from Genevieve Deschenes, attended May 2026: Fun class to learn about the different types of Matcha and taste 3 different brands. Then we got to make our own matcha latte and a matcha bowl. The class was fun and peaceful.
  • 5/5 from Kaamya Mehta, attended May 2026: Such a fun class! It was so interesting to be walked through the different notes of matcha from different places, and making the matcha bowls was so fun.
  • 5/5 from Marcela Sanchez, attended May 2026: We did the class for a friend's birthday. We had a great time, learnt about matcha, did our own matcha late with correct techniques, and had a good time making our own matcha bowl. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, loved that at no stage we were rushed.
  • 5/5 from Kathryn, attended May 2026: Had a lot of fun. It was interesting to try different matchas and learn why they taste different. The team were very knowledgeable and helpful with making matcha and the pottery, and it was nice to meet new people with similar interests.
  • 5/5 from Jasmien Meyer, attended May 2026: A great way to spend two hours. The matcha tasting and making a cup for ourselves, making a bowl out of clay and then painting it, the gentle way of explaining how by both teachers. A very fun, calm and serene time to be had
  • 5/5 from Lindsey Cawood, attended Apr 2026: Review: Matcha Tasting Experience & Matcha Bowl Pottery Class We attended the class on Sunday 26th April and had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The session began with a prompt and friendly introduction, and the hosts immediately made us feel welcome. The matcha tasting was both informative and relaxing—we came away with some really useful knowledge that will help us enjoy matcha more at home. After the tasting, we moved on to making our own matcha bowls, which was such a calming and enjoyable part of the experience. It was incredibly satisfying to create something ourselves, and we can’t wait to see our finished glazed bowls (I believe they’re called chawan). The hosts were fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and always on hand to help. Overall, a really enjoyable and relaxing experience that we would definitely recommend.
  • 5/5 from Virginia, attended Apr 2026: We went on Saturday morning as a gift for my friend’s birthday. Great experience. 10/10 value for money: for the first hour you do the matcha tasting and you can actually try different type of matcha and choose your favourite. Second hour is the most interactive as you do your own bowl. Definitely recommended to ppl that wants to enjoy two full hours of workshop. Thanks for having us
  • 5/5 from Katie, attended Apr 2026: Loved my experience here! I did the matcha tasting and matcha bowl making class (all in one) and it was so fun. The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain the history of matcha and how to make it correctly. They were also very helpful when I was making my matcha bowl and did some parts for me as I was struggling! Thank you :)
  • 5/5 from April Salenga, attended Apr 2026: We had a great experience learning about matcha and making our own bowl during the pottery session. Very informative, enjoyable and at the same time relaxing. I just wish we had more time painting and designing the bowl. But overall, it was amazing and a highly recommended weekend activity!x
