Hello, I'm Martin and I have been folding origami and teaching informally for about 18 years. I have attended and taught at origami conventions across the world and I'm a member of the British Origami Society, and of Origami USA.

I find origami to be a wonderful way to relax and unwind as your mind becomes completely immersed and thus too busy to be running in circles at 100 mph trying to resolve whatever the problem of the day is!

For those who work in a hectic environment and are feeling stressed, being able to take a few minutes in the middle of the day (or night) to fold something can create a refreshing interlude — a little bit of "me" time in which to relax.

Origami is also a good way to keep the brain active, can help with stress relief, can improve hand-eye coordination, improve understanding of geometry, proportions, and other mathematical relationships, it can even help with communication skills!

I love to share this wonderful Japanese art form with others and see the many ways in which it can improve the daily lives of those I teach. So whether you're simply looking for fun things to do or your searching for some stress-alleviating activities, come along and see what you can create!
