Whether you're after a unique team-building exercise, crafty gifts for the lather lover in your life or just treating yourself, this workshop is a brilliant way to get started with making your own natural beauty products.

You'll receive a lovingly packaged craft box delivered to your door, containing all of the handpicked natural ingredients you'll be using. After a brief introduction to the fascinating history and chemistry of soap, your talented teacher will give you some expert demonstrations on all the equipment, techniques and tools you'll utilise to create your handmade soap in the comfort of your own home.

It doesn't matter if this is your first foray into creating DIY beauty products, as your experienced crafter will be on hand to dispense handy hints and advice, covering everything from using essential oils for fragrance to natural colouring and decorations.

By the end of the class, you'll have a year's supply of beautiful, skin-friendly soap to enjoy, as well as the skills you need to create even more — handmade soap makes a fabulous gift!

What you'll get in your craft kit
  • Coconut oil 360g.
  • Shea butter 240g.
  • Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) 200g.
  • 2 x Essentials oils 10ml bottles.
What you'll need
Safety equipment
  • Dishwashing gloves.
  • Apron.
  • Safety goggles.
  • N95 face mask.

Craft equipment
  • Hob to melt solid oils; alternatively microwave on low.
  • Digital scales.
  • Stainless steel pan or pot.
  • Stick or immersion blender.
  • Thermometer (jam or digital laser).
  • Plastic bucket.
  • Silicone spatula.
  • Large stainless-steel serving spoon (not essential if you have a silicone spatula).
  • 2 x plastic jugs.
  • Kitchen towel.
  • 2 x moulds – you can use any container as a mould, for example, an empty orange juice carton, a silicone loaf mould or cupcake cases.
