In this fun one-day course, learn the basics of silversmithing - working with silver sheet and wire stock to form a usable, 3D object, in the form of your very own silver teaspoon.
  • Learn how to cut and refine wire and sheet stock with a jeweller's saw.
  • Use punches and hammers to create 3D bowls from the flat sheet.
  • Manipulate silver wire/rod by twisting, cutting, filing, and shaping to design your spoon handle.
  • Learn to solder to join the bowl and handle.
  • Polish and finish your spoon ready to use.
Suitable for all (over 18s only) - complete beginners as well as anyone with existing jewellery making or craft skills - all are welcome - whether you're looking for a fun new challenge, a creative day out, or to expand on your existing skills.
Maximum class size of just 3 students, so plenty of individual support and attention for everyone in my well-equipped studio in Camden Town, London NW1.
The workshop is downstairs so unfortunately not accessible if you have mobility problems - I'm sorry.
What you'll get
Leave with your very own, handmade solid silver teaspoon, made by yourself, to your own design. Tea, coffee, and snacks during the day are included, but lunch is not included - there are lots of cafes very nearby, however.
