In this unique hands-on workshop, you’ll discover how simple sheets of paper can be transformed into an amazing moving mechanical model.
Using one of our specially designed Paper Animation Kits, you’ll learn how to cut, assemble, and build a working paper automata model that actually moves using clever engineering principles hidden within the design.
During the experience, you will:
  • Have a range of exciting paper animation models, including animals, dinosaurs, moving characters, and mechanical creations. As a class, we would all have to make the same model!
  • Learn how simple engineering principles like cams, cranks, and moving mechanisms bring paper to life.
  • Carefully cut, fold, and assemble your model step by step with expert guidance throughout.
  • Discover how paper engineering combines creativity with problem-solving and design thinking.
  • Build confidence using hands-on making skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
  • Finish with your own fully working moving model to keep, display, and show off proudly.
This is more than just a craft workshop.
It is a chance to switch off from screens, slow down, focus, create something remarkable, and experience the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
Perfect for curious minds, creative thinkers, and anyone who enjoys discovering how things work while having fun along the way.

Go On, Make Me Ltd
Go On, Make Me Ltd

Hi, I’m Oliver, founder of Go On, Make Me.
I have always believed that some of the best learning in life happens when we stop watching… and start making.
After spending decades building businesses in product development, manufacturing and retail, I found myself becoming increasingly concerned by how much creativity, patience and curiosity were quietly disappearing from everyday life. We live in a world dominated by screens, instant gratification and passive entertainment, and I felt there was something incredibly important being lost along the way.
That led me to create Go On, Make Me.
My mission is simple:
To help people reconnect with the joy of making things with their own hands.
I specialise in creating and curating products that encourage creativity, problem-solving and hands-on learning, particularly experiences that take people away from screens and remind them how satisfying it can be to build something yourself.
One of the projects I am most passionate about is our collection of Paper Animation Kits, designed in collaboration with paper engineer Rob Ives.
These kits allow people to cut, fold, glue and build fully working moving paper models, learning fascinating principles of mechanics and engineering as they create. What makes them so special is that they combine creativity with problem solving. You are not simply making something decorative… you are bringing an idea to life.
I love teaching because I believe creativity builds confidence.
There is something incredibly rewarding about watching somebody go from “I don’t think I can do this” to “I made that with my own hands.”
That moment of discovery is what excites me.
What many people do not know about me is that throughout my career I have worked across industries ranging from international consumer products to manufacturing and business leadership, but I have always been drawn toward products that inspire curiosity.
I genuinely believe one of the greatest gifts we can give children, and adults too, is the opportunity to create something tangible in a world that increasingly feels virtual.
My workshops are designed to be relaxed, engaging and accessible for all experience levels.
No special skills required.
Just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to make something wonderful.
Because sometimes a simple piece of paper can teach us far more than we expect.
And I think we could all benefit from making a little more.
