What you'll do

In this exciting online workshop, you will learn how to colour and heat distress Tyvek paper to create stunning leaves. With the templates and coloured Tyvek provided in your kit, you will be able to bring these leaves to life. And don't worry if you're new to sewing machines! This class is designed to help you develop your drawing with a sewing machine skills, so you'll be creating beautiful artwork in no time.

To make your leaves even more realistic, you'll have the option to slightly heat distress them. This technique adds a touch of authenticity and brings out the unique textures of the Tyvek paper. It's a creative journey that you wouldn't want to miss!

Once your leaves are complete, we will guide you on how to use wire and florist tape (also included in the kit) to arrange them into a stunning composition. You'll receive step-by-step instructions on how to create your arrangement, making it a breeze even for beginners.

To join this workshop, all you need is a device (laptop or tablet), an iron, and a sewing machine. If you have a craft heat gun, you can also bring it along for an optional enhancement to your leaves.

Helen started creating at an early age and went on to study applied textiles and become a qualified trainer.
A visual artist, Helen specialises in Textile & Mixed Media Art.
Her practice has an emphasis on upcycling and the use of innovative textile art materials and techniques. She embraces a wide range of practices including both hand and free machine embroidery, wet and dry needle felting, surface fabric design, and embellishment.
She also runs regular Creative Textile Workshops both at her own studio and for groups and events.
Helen gives inspirational talks, produces on-demand digital guidance, and blogs and creates kits for us to get creative at home.

Helen aims to bring some peace and play to our every day and believes the creative process can be therapeutic and is far more important than the finished product. She has been told that her sessions are "better than therapy"
