Liquid Emulsion - Alternative Darkroom Photography Workshop

Do you love shooting film? Love the analogue experience? Liquid emulsion will take you to the next level with your creative analogue photography. Create hand-made photographic prints that look like paintings.In this one-day workshop, you'll learn how to create magical darkroom prints, hand-painted onto art paper. A print like this is a tactile joy to hold, touch, and examine. The process itself is also refreshingly hands-on, experimental, and beautifully rich. You never thought your photographs could look this magical.Taught in a large, clean, well-equipped darkroom in Camden, you'll have access to enlargers, chemicals, and photographic paper. Please bring your own (ideally 35mm, black & white) negatives, already processed and ready to print from. Hopefully, you'll have some darkroom experience already, and you enjoy shooting black & white film, but even if you don't, it's not a problem. You can coat your paper and have fun creating photograms using objects laid onto the paper.In this workshop, you will:

• Meet other people with creative and photographic interests
• Learn how to measure out and carefully melt the light-sensitive gel
• Use paintbrushes to apply the light-sensitive liquid to art paper
• Expose your own photographs onto your hand-coated paper
• Use traditional darkroom chemistry to develop your prints in the darkroom, watching them come to life before your eyes.
