Join this hands-on wool spinning workshop in London and discover the fascinating qualities of various natural wool types. You'll get stuck into the art of preparing and carding by hand before mastering the operation of a traditional spinning wheel. By the end of the workshop, you'll have created your own unique yarn to take home.
If the thought of spinning wool seems a little daunting, you've got this! This class is designed especially for beginners, and friendly teachers will guide you through each step with patience and encouragement. You'll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the techniques and how rewarding the process feels.
Throughout the session, you'll work with high-quality materials, including:
  • Natural wool – Explore different types of fleece and their unique textures.
  • Hand carders – Learn to prepare your fibres for a smooth spin.
  • Traditional spinning wheels – Master the rhythm and flow of this timeless craft.
By the end of the workshop, not only will you have gained new skills in a heritage craft, but you'll also leave with a beautiful skein of yarn and a refreshed sense of creative confidence.

Janine was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging throughout, making the whole experience really enjoyable. The studio itself is beautiful, with lots of natural light and an inspiring collection of amazing Japanese looms. It was a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with great conversation and plenty of opportunities to learn and ask questions. I came away feeling inspired and keen to return for another workshop. Highly recommended!

Our Japanese floor looms are remarkably accessible for complete beginners, while offering experienced weavers the freedom to develop sophisticated and experimental work.
