What you'll do

Looking for creative things to do at home? Join Stephanie Bonneau from Ecole Saint Clare and master the basics of tambour beading with this pre-recorded class and craft kit!

Widely used in Paris fashion houses, Tambour beading consists of embroidering fine beads and sequins with a hook to create a chain stitch.

During this class, you will be learning the foundations of tambour beading, including the chain stitch, stitching fine beads and bugles and stitching the sequins “en rivière”.

In this pre-recorded class, you will cover:

Introduction to tambour beading.
Materials and equipment.
Transferring the design onto the fabric.
How to prepare your tambour hook.
Chainstitch.
Casting on and casting oﬀ.
Changing directions.
Transferring and adding bugles beads.
Incorporating fine seed beads.
Sequins “en riviere”.
Working with a design.

You'll receive a craft kit with all of the materials you need along with step-by-step video instructions with interactive photos, giving you everything you need to create an exquisitely beaded flower from scratch.

This course is accessible for 12 months from the date of purchase. Once you complete the course, you can still access the course for 12 months. This period can be extended if needed.

Knowledge required

Some sewing skill is recommended. You don't need embroidery or tambour beading experience as we'll cover this together.

Stephanie Bonneau is a textile artist specialised in hand embroidery based in Cheshire. She has over 12 years experience collaborated for multinational design houses including Chanel, Christian Dior and Burburry.

She has led embroidery classes in renowned institutions. Stephanie is expert is a wide range of techniques including Goldwork, Tambour Beading and silk shading. She teach classes from beginner to advanced and master class.

She is now sharing her time between teaching, designing new projects and artworks, working for Fashion Weeks, and private commissions for companies and clients.
