Learn Interior Design from A–Z: A 5-Day Online Course
Ever looked at a beautifully designed room and wondered what makes it work? Or dreamed of turning your passion for interiors into a career of your own?
Join me for a practical, interactive five-day journey into the world of interior design, from understanding the fundamentals to developing your own designs and exploring how to work professionally in the industry.
Whether you want to transform your own home, explore a new creative passion or take your first steps towards becoming an interior designer, this course will give you the knowledge, tools and ideas to move forward with confidence.
And don't worry — you don't need any previous design experience, and you certainly don't need to be an artist!
What we'll cover
  • A brief history of interior design — Explore the movements, influences and ideas that have shaped the spaces we inhabit, including the timeless appeal of Art Deco.
  • Interior design styles — Learn to recognise different styles, understand their defining characteristics and discover what appeals to you.
  • The principles of design — Explore colour, lighting, proportion, balance, texture and the details that bring a room together.
  • Space planning — Learn practical techniques for arranging furniture, understanding spatial relationships and making the most of a room.
  • Drawing and visualising interiors — Discover accessible ways to communicate your ideas and turn inspiration into a design concept.
  • From inspiration to a finished design — Learn how to develop ideas, make design decisions and bring different elements together into a coherent space.
  • Finding suppliers and products — Discover how to research international suppliers, source furniture and materials, and recognise potential red flags.
  • Working as an interior designer — Understand what it takes to find clients, price your work, get paid and begin building a professional practice.
  • Starting an online interior design business — Explore how to deliver design services remotely and build a business that can work with clients around the world.
An interactive course, not a lecture
I want this to be a genuinely engaging learning experience, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, exchange ideas and explore the aspects of interior design that interest you most.
Have a room you've been struggling to redesign? Curious about a particular style? Wondering how designers actually find clients or source furniture? Bring your questions — we can explore practical examples and discuss your own ideas along the way.
My aim is for you to leave with more than a collection of design facts: I want you to have a clearer understanding of how interior design works, a toolkit of practical techniques and plenty of inspiration to put what you've learned into practice.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for complete beginners, curious home decorators, creative enthusiasts and anyone considering a career change or a future in interior design.
No previous experience is required — just curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment with ideas.

Alex Lecis

I'm Alex Lecis, a London-based interior designer and interior design tutor. I've spent 10 years designing residential and commercial interiors, and 7 years teaching interior design to students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Before moving into design, I worked in the corporate world, particularly in logistics. That background shaped the way I approach interiors today — combining creativity with strong project management, organisation and practical problem-solving.
My projects range from compact city apartments to larger family homes, always with the same care for detail and for the people who will live in the space.
Today I work online, supporting clients and students wherever they are and whatever their mobility. As a disabled designer, accessibility isn't an afterthought — it's central to how I design. I create interiors that are elegant, practical and welcoming for everyone.
