What you'll do
Join us at this virtual workshop to learn about the Japanese art of kusudama. During the session we will teach you some basic origami folds and show you how these can be used to recycle old magazines, maps, book pages and even junk mail into beautiful flowers! Don't worry if you are beginner at origami, we will guide you patiently through all the steps involved, with both demonstrations and pictorial instructions provided. We will also cover different options for decorating and using your flowers.
You will receive written instructions so that you can continue to make more flowers after the workshop. Kusudama flowers make lovely gifts or decorations for the home. Perfect for hen dos, crafty brides-to-be, wedding anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthdays, or even just to treat yourself!
Are you a business looking for an affordable and eco-friendly team activity? This virtual workshop uses materials you probably already have at home, so there are no expensive kits to pay for, just a small workshop facilitation fee. The ticket price covers workshop delivery via Zoom or Teams and there is no additional cost per student.

Students will be sent a list of basic materials required for the class. These are all items that most people will have at home already and we make use of recycling as much as possible.

L & S Crafts is run by wife & husband team, Laura & Sam, with Laura providing the ‘craft’ element and Sam the ‘artistic’ input!
Laura is passionate about all kinds of paper-based crafts and she really enjoys developing new workshops to pass on these skills to others. Papercrafts are a wonderful introduction to the world of craft, as with simple equipment and a bit of expert knowledge you can create beautiful items to enjoy yourself or share with friends & family.
L & S Crafts are also activity providers for Wild Harvest School of Self-Reliance and teach a range of their natural craft workshops. These bite-sized workshops are perfect for social gatherings such as hen parties and baby showers.
L & S Crafts are available for private workshop bookings at your own venue across Yorkshire, the North West and the Midlands. We can bring our craft boxes to private houses, village halls, function rooms, workplaces, cafes, pubs, etc. Past workshop bookings have included hen and birthday parties, community groups, corporate team building sessions and a guest appearance on the 'Winter On The Farm' TV show!
