Looking for fun things to do with kids? This beginner crochet class for kids has been specially developed for kids of 8+ years.
Swap the screens for some crochet for a couple of hours and give your kids the chance to learn an amazing crafty skill that they can enjoy forever.
Crocheting can make us feel calmer, happier and better able to focus — all fantastic for our mental health and wellbeing, and super important to help our children through these strange and stressful times.
This mindful craft is taught in a relaxed, patient way by an understanding mother of three! It will give your child the basic skills they need to continue on an amazing crochet journey.
Learning in a supportive environment at the same time as diversifying their hobbies and engaging in a rewarding activity, this class is great for mental wellbeing and will leave your child feeling proud of their new skills (and keen to continue!).
By the end of this crochet class, your child will:
- Understand how their hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of the finished piece.
- Be able to cast a foundation chain.
- Complete a row of single crochet stitches (US).
- Practice the correct way to turn and continue the next row.
- Have gained the basic skills to continue to create their own crochet project working in rows - such as a scarf.
