Jewellery Making Class: Silver Stacking Rings

Unlock a world of metal and gemstones with the Stacking Rings Class! With Stelios' step-by-step instruction and guidance, you will create your own set of silver stacking rings, crafted by you and for you.

Learn how to make a set of silver stacking rings with the help and guidance of an experienced goldsmith, in a fully equipped workshop located in the heart of east London. No prior experience is necessary - this course will give you a perfect introduction to metalsmithing techniques for jewellery-making. This is a 5-hour course (with 30min break) designed for a maximum of 4 beginner students, meaning you will have lots of one-to-one time with Stelios and be able to ask as many questions as you wish.

You will be taught how to create between 2 and 4 stacking rings with a tube setting using the fundamental skills of sawing, filing, and soldering, although you will focus more on the latter. You will also be introduced to the technique of tube setting and will learn how to prepare metal for soldering, what to do to achieve an invisible solder joint, and finally, how to take measurements and create accurate ring sizes.

By the end of the class, you'll have learned how to:

• Measure ring sizes
• Saw, file, and solder metal
• Give texture to the metal
• Set a stone using the tube setting technique
• Give the finish of your choice (polish, satin, matte, oxidised)

You will take home with you your new favourite set of silver stacking rings.
Please be aware that the class might slightly run over sometimes.
P.S. Manicure recommended after the class, please not before! :)

Beginner-friendly
  All the tools needed to create your design and a beautiful set of your very own silver stacking rings with gems.
  Please wear closed-toed shoes. If you have long hair, please bring a hair band or something to tie back your hair. If you usually wear glasses, please bring them too.
There will be a short lunch break, feel free to bring your own lunch (you can heat up food using the microwave at your disposal in the studio). Otherwise, there are many takeaway places nearby.
