Jewellery Making Class - Seaglass Earrings

What you'll do
If you're a fan of jewellery and love collecting sea glass you can make your very own stylish jewellery in this class.
In this short introductory session, you will drill your own sea glass to add to either earrings or a pendant. You will also learn how form circles and solder silver for the sea glass to hang from.
You'll have the full support of your teacher throughout each class, so no worries about getting stuck. You'll leave the session with your beautiful sea glass jewellery ready to enjoy for years to come.
The class usually lasts around one and a half hours, but can take longer depending on how you get on with the craft.
Notes:
- some elements of the jewellery will be prefabricated to support your making (ear wires and jump-rings)
- if you make a pendant you can purchase a chain for additional cost on the day (prices start at £3.50)
Knowledge required
Beginner friendly.Also good for those that wish to expand their knowledge in making jewellery.
What you'll get
- All the equipment and tools needed to create a set of sea glass-mounted silver jewellery to take home with you.
- Tea, coffee and snack bars.
What to bring
- A selection of sea glass in varying sizes (if you do not have any sea glass let the teacher know and they can source some for you).
- A hair tie if you have long hair.
- Reading glasses if you need them.
What to wear:
- Please avoid wearing loose/baggy sleeved tops as these can get in the way when working with tools.
- Comfortable clothes are recommended as you will be seated for some time.
- Please wear closed toe shoes (dropping a hammer or mandrel on flip flop adorned feet is mighty painful)
- An extra layer to wear if you get chilly as I will open windows to ventilate during soldering

I am a jewellery designer and maker, who works predominantly with recycled silver. I started learning this craft in 2015. What started out as a hobby, quickly became all consuming, I transformed our spare room into a workshop and started selling my designs under the name Sable Cloud Jewellery. My previous career as primary school teacher made it a natural progression for me to share my love of working with metal by teaching family and friends to make their own jewellery...and now I am teaching you!
