By Shax is an independent, conscious London-based art and homeware brand which uses a variety of materials to create handmade, unique, and vibrant pieces. With a focus on sustainable and bespoke homeware, most pieces are made with jesmonite which is an eco-resin. Jesmonite is often used in construction as an alternative to concrete, however it is VOC-free and much lighter. By Shax is a one-woman business and is owned by Shalaka Laxman, who also works in Sustainable Finance alongside her creative business. Each piece is designed and handmade in her studio in the Isle of Dogs in East London.
