Recent reviews of Japanese Cooking Class: Chicken Katsu Curry
5/5 from Alex Brown, attended Aug 2026: The teacher was lovely, very chatty, told us a lot about the history. Maybe we could have more condensed version but it was still really interesting to learn the origins of the dish! The food was also really good in the end, he had prepared enough Blue Peter style for us to try all the steps.
5/5 from Oluwaseun Lottu, attended Feb 2026: Move over, Jamie Oliver! I had such a blast at this Chicken Katsu Curry class. If you’re worried about it being complicated, don’t be, the whole experience was incredibly fun and easy to follow. Our teacher was absolutely amazing and funny, keeping the energy high and the instructions clear. It felt less like a formal lesson and more like hanging out with a pro who really knows their stuff. As for the result? The food was excellent. Honestly, the crunch on my chicken was so perfect that I think Jamie Oliver has some serious competition now! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants a great meal and a great time. PS I learnt to write some Mandarin letters lol
5/5 from Kenechi Nwaki, attended Feb 2026: Really good experience, will definitely be returning!

We had the class to ourselves, so it was like a private tutoring class and it was an astonishingly good experience, highly recommend, the tutor was extreemly knowledgeable and full of fascinating information, would definitely try some of their other classes!
5/5 from Sadia, attended Feb 2024: It was for Valentine’s Day. The ingredients were prepared well and the venue / facilities were great. The class was a good value and the teachers were friendly and very knowledgeable. It was very fun and we learnt a lot. I would definitely recommend

We will recommend it to everyone and will book more classes.
5/5 from Linda Whitehead, attended Sep 2023: We had an excellent cooking class with Simon. The shop is air-conditioned and we had nice cold drink for free. Enjoyed learning knife skills and cooking knowledge from Simon. We sat comfortably and ate the food at the end of the class. Very delicious. We will bring more friends back for different classes for sure.
5/5 from George Westwell, attended Aug 2023: Great class! The teacher was friendly and very helpful, explaining each task and the history of the dish. The food I made turned out very well and was delicious!
5/5 from Luna, attended Jul 2023: We had a really good time with Hanna and Simon in this cooking class. Now we realise it takes so much efforts to make the Japanese curry. Simon made the class really interesting and explained every step very clearly. The result is very delicious. We also learned to make artistic Bento. It is very interesting.
5/5 from Emma Garland, attended Feb 2023: I bought the katsu curry class for my partner's birthday and it was brilliant. Simon and Hanna were both so friendly, helpful and informative. We learned a lot about the history of the dish as well as how to prepare it step by step, and we came away feeling confident about making it at home, which is exactly what you want from a cooking class! I'm vegan and my partner eats meat and they were super helpful in guiding us through the different steps for each variation. Also they have some great produce on sale – I can't wait to try the homemade crispy chili oil :) Thank you Simon and Hanna! We'll definitely be back again.
