  • 5/5 from Kate Drew, attended Sep 2026: My daughter and I spent a fabulous few hours learning with the talented Filigrana on Saturday, learning the art of gilding on glass and both came away with 2 beautiful works of art. We learned two methods and achieved success with both. Filigrana is a patient and attentive teacher who enabled us both to achieve success. I honestly didn’t expect to be able to make anything quite as hockey as we did. Thank you very much. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you and highly recommend this workshop.
  • 5/5 from Jasmine Drew, attended Sep 2026: Estitxu was a lovely, patient, and friendly teacher. She showed us the basics for two tecniques of glass gilding - water based, and oil based. During the class we were able to create two pieces of art, using each technique. Estitxu told us about her life as an artist, and how she got into glass gilding, which was very interesting to hear about! We thoroughly enjoyed the class as it was an opportunity to be creative, learn a new art form, and spend quality time with my Mum. Although we didn't finish our pieces during the class, Estitxu gave us guidance and some paint on how to finish them off!
  • 5/5 from Ana Sezulfe, attended Jun 2026: This workshop was so much fun! Estitxu was super helpful every step of the way, including before we were even at the workshop, she was patient, attentive and knowledgeable and she made the experience feel very relaxed, which was helpful because there is a lot of information to take in. We were more than happy with our end results and both of us felt like we learnt enough that we could go home and do more ourselves. I would recommend this workshop to anyone.
  • 5/5 from Carolyn Raybould, attended Apr 2026: We had great fun at the introduction to gliding on glass workshop on Saturday and produced a few example pieces to take home, from silver leaf to stencilling to painting on glass. It was a lovely few hours experimenting with Estitxu’s vast knowledge. Thanks for a fun class

  • 5/5 from Zoe Wilson, attended Jan 2026: A fabulous three hours! Estitxu’s skill and love for her craft shone through. She gently encouraged our creativity and we each left with two beautiful pieces … and lots of ideas to try out at home.
  • 5/5 from Tammy Boydell, attended Jan 2026: What a fascinating class! Estitxu was a great host and explained all the processes and history/background really well. Her years of experience shone through! I came away with a strong sense of inspiration and achievement PLUS two pieces of work which are very different but both interesting.

I am artist with over 30 years experience, who specialises in glass gilding (or Verre Eglomise as it's also known). Using both traditional and modern gilding techniques to create intricate designs in gold, silver and copper leaf, I have been commissioned all over the world to create bespoke pieces - from standalone works of art, to decorative panels or unique pieces of furniture.
For the past 4 years, I have been sharing my knowledge of gilding on glass with students who range from absolute beginners to established gilders and artists who wish to take their skills to the next level.
It's a joy to share my years of experience in small, intimate classes and watch students fall in love with this beautiful craft.
