Join these beginner-friendly brush pen calligraphy classes online and discover the joy of creating beautiful letterforms.This series of classes is an introduction to brush calligraphy, where you will learn the essential techniques for writing beautiful letters with brush pens, and creating an artistic composition. In part one, you'll start by practising the basic strokes that form every letter, learning how to control your brush pen to create those classic thick and thin lines. This will be followed by an initial look at how to join the strokes we have practiced to form letters.In part two, you will learn how to join the basic strokes to form letters. We will practice drawing each stroke and letter with control, to achieve smooth transitions between thick and thin lines. We will then start experimenting with connecting letters together, and forming words.In part three, you will learn ways to add a splash of personality to your writing with simple flourishes, embellishments and stylish touches. And finally, in part four, you will learn simple and effective ways to lay out a short slogan or quote, how to arrange words and decorative elements on the page harmoniously, and how to use negative space for balance, and have the chance to put together everything you have learned and create your first calligraphy artwork.Book for each individual class choosing from the drop down menu.After booking, you will be emailed a set of worksheets to use during the class and to keep practising in your own time.
