Learn to make delicious street food dishes and take home your creations at this Indian cooking class in Edgware.

3 hours Class size 3 to 6 guests       £140 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Learn to cook authentic Indian food in this hands-on cookery class – and you'll be doing all the cooking yourself, not watching a demonstration. Everything happens in real time, nothing's pre-prepared, so you'll learn exactly how dishes come together from start to finish. Best of all, you'll take home the delicious food you've made – more than enough for two – plus recipes for every single dish you've learnt.
Here's how the class flows: we'll start with a proper introduction and get you comfortable in the kitchen. Then comes a thorough talk about spices – you'll understand exactly how and when to use them, and why they matter. After that, it's all prep work together: cutting, slicing, getting every ingredient ready. Then the fun part kicks in – the cooking itself – where you'll bring everything together with our guidance at every step. We'll finish with a recap of everything you've just learnt, and there's always time for questions so you feel confident recreating these dishes at home.
The menu for this session includes bhel puri – that brilliant Mumbai street food that's crunchy, soft, sour, sweet, hot and cold all at once – pav bhaji with its fragrant vegetable masala, a proper Bombay sandwich layered with potato and cheese, and traditional ginger and masala chai to finish.
My teaching style is encouraging and informal, in a genuinely relaxed setting. With every recipe, we'll chat through alternatives so you can tweak ingredients to what works for you and your kitchen at home.

Ren’s passion for Indian food is well known to her family and friends. Her reputation grew rapidly as the number of people asking for cookery tips and lessons steadily increased. Ren realised that she had discovered her passion.
With ‘curry’ being the nation’s favourite food, most people either go out to restaurants to eat it, grab a ‘take away’ or buy lavishly photographed Indian cookery books, but only to find that they just can’t get the flavours they crave quite right –- this is where Ren gets involved.
Ren had worked in a corporate environment for 13 years and after being made redundant and giving birth to her beautiful daughter, Monica, in 2003 she wanted to find a way of spending time with Monica at home but still pursuing a career. Ren’s Kitchen was therefore born in the summer of 2004. Ren began sharing her knowledge and passion of Indian cooking from her family kitchen, teaching a maximum of three people at a time. Ren’s Kitchen became more and more popular and Ren has since created a fabulous studio that now enables her to teach classes of six people.
