I grew up around horses and, from a very young age, they were the place I felt safest, most regulated, and most myself. Long before I had the language for coaching, trauma-informed practice, or NLP, horses were teaching me about presence, boundaries, leadership, and emotional regulation — simply by being who they are.
My work today sits at the intersection of equine connection, coaching, and reflective learning. I use horses not as tools, but as partners in learning — supporting people to slow down, notice their patterns, and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels grounded and real. Horses respond honestly to what we bring, which makes them powerful teachers for leadership, confidence, and wellbeing.
Alongside this, I also run a professional riding and horsemanship business, offering riding experiences rooted in welfare, ethics, and relationship-based training. Whether someone comes to ride, to learn, or simply to be around horses, the focus is always on trust, respect, and connection — not performance for performance’s sake.
I love teaching because I get to watch people soften, grow in confidence, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had. I’ve worked with children, young people, adults, leaders, and teams — many of whom arrive feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure, and leave with a clearer sense of themselves and their direction.
I’m the founder of Eat Sleep Ride, a women-led, off-grid rural site in the Scottish Borders, built on reclaimed land and shaped by community. Over the years, I’ve delivered hundreds of sessions, supported vulnerable young people, facilitated leadership and team-building experiences, and developed programmes that blend coaching, nature, and ethical horsemanship.
What most people don’t know is that this work isn’t “soft” — it’s deeply skilled, intentional, and grounded in years of lived experience, professional practice, and learning. I hold qualifications across coaching and facilitation, work with accredited practitioners, and continue to learn constantly — from people, from nature, and always from the horses.
At the heart of everything I do is one belief: real leadership starts with awareness, connection, and respect — and horses are extraordinary teachers of all three.
