Hi, I'm Heather
I'm a Scottish artist, business owner and educator based in Dundee, and I genuinely believe that creativity is something everyone can enjoy.
I've spent most of my career helping businesses grow, leading international finance teams, and advising organisations through major change, but recently, art has been where I feel most at home. A few years ago, during a career break, I picked up a paintbrush and discovered just how much joy, peace and confidence creativity can bring. Since then, I've exhibited my work across Scotland, run Paint & Sip events, and combined my love of teaching with my passion for helping people discover abilities they never knew they had.
My painting focuses mainly on birds, wildlife, and the beautiful landscapes of Scotland, and I work primarily in acrylics. I love colour, light and capturing those fleeting moments in nature that are over in an instant.
Teaching is one of the most rewarding things I do. I love watching someone arrive convinced they're "not artistic" and leave a couple of hours later smiling, proud of what they've created. My classes are relaxed, welcoming and completely judgement-free. You don't need any experience at all, just a willingness to have a go and enjoy the process.
Alongside my art, I'm the Founder and CEO of The Ogilvie Business School, where I teach entrepreneurship, finance and business strategy. I'm also a Financial Times Women in Business Mentor and have spent more than 25 years helping people and organisations build confidence, solve problems and achieve ambitious goals. Those skills naturally carry into my creative workshops, where my aim is always to help people feel encouraged, capable and inspired.
For artists who want to turn their creativity into a business, I also teach a Professional Qualification in the Business of Art. It's designed to help artists build sustainable, profitable creative businesses without losing the joy that made them start creating in the first place.
Whether you're joining me for a fun evening painting with friends, celebrating a special occasion, organising a team event, or taking the first steps towards building a creative business, I'd love to welcome you.
I can't wait to paint with you.
